What are waiting periods?

In essence, a waiting period in private health insurance is a period of time in the initial phase of your membership you need to wait before you can receive benefits for services or inclusions covered by your policy. Waiting periods can also apply to any additional benefits gained when you change your policy.

No benefits are payable for services provided during a waiting period.
