Westfund Member Giveback 2023

Over the last three years, Westfund has given up to $10.8 million in claim savings back to our members. And we're doing it again. This August, we'll return up to $6 million to our members to support them at a time when every little bit counts.

All eligible members who hold an active Hospital and/or Extras policy as of 30 June 2023 will receive the claims savings giveback if still active on 1 August 2023.*

How much can I expect to get back?

To keep things fair and to help as many members as we can, we’ve decided to calculate the amount we’re returning based on the level of your cover held on 30 June 2023.


Payments will range from around $20 through to $289, depending on your level of cover. We'll let you know exactly how much you can expect to get back later in July. Depending on your communication preference, you will either receive an email or a letter notification. 

How will I receive my giveback?

We’ll be returning the funds directly to members in late July.


All you need to do is ensure your bank account details on your membership are accurate. You can update them yourself under 'Payment of Benefits' on Members Online, in the app - or you can just give us a call on 1300 937 838 and we’ll help you out.

What if I don’t have a bank account on my membership?

If you don’t have a bank account registered with us to receive payments, we’ll credit your membership in advance. This means we’ll add the amount of days equivalent to your payment onto your membership. In most cases, this will mean that the next direct debit payment you make with us will be lower. For members who B-Pay or pay their membership directly, we’ll add days on to your membership, so you’ll be paid in advance.

What if I’m behind with my payments?

If you’re more than 31 days behind with your membership payments when we process the return, we’ll add your payment amount as pre-paid days on your membership. This means you’ll be paid up until a later date.

*Terms and Conditions

Memberships must be active and financial from 30 June 2023 through to and including 1 August 2023. Member Giveback is calculated based on the level of cover held at 30 June 2023. Member Giveback excludes members on Ambulance only or members who are suspended for any time between 30 June 2023 and 1 August 2023 and some corporate groups where the employer is paying for the membership.
